Kigali Völkermordgedenkstätte

Das Kigali Genozid-Mahnmal in Kigali, Ruanda, ist ein berührendes Denkmal für die Opfer des Völkermords gegen die Tutsi im Jahr 1994. Am 10. Jahrestag des Völkermords eingeweiht, ehrt dieses Mahnmal in Gisozi die 250.000 verlorenen Leben und informiert über die Gräueltaten der Völkermorde des 20. Jahrhunderts.

Das laufende Projekt, die Wand der Namen, gedenkt der Verstorbenen, wobei viele Namen noch auf Dokumentation warten. Die Gedenkstätten bieten einen ruhigen Ort zur Reflexion über die Geschichte des Völkermords und fordern uns alle auf, persönliche Verantwortung zu übernehmen, um Diskriminierung und Massenverbrechen zu verhindern.

Darüber hinaus bietet das Zentrum Unterstützung für Überlebende, insbesondere Waisen und Witwen, und verkörpert Ruandas Engagement für Frieden, Versöhnung und den Kampf gegen genozidale Ideologien. Please note that a permit for Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest costs $800 per person per day, with a minimum age requirement of 14 years.
