Chimachesi Airstrip

Chimachesi Airstrip is a remote bush airstrip in the Zambezi Valley of northern Zimbabwe, serving the Nyamawani Pan and surrounding wilderness areas. It provides an important access point for safari operators visiting the remote Mana Pools/Zambezi Valley landscape, where road access is limited and charter flights are the most practical way to reach many camps and wildlife areas.



The airstrip is situated in a largely undeveloped wilderness environment, making it particularly useful for fly-in safari operations. The surrounding area is characterized by Zambezi Valley woodland, open plains and seasonal water sources, with opportunities to see elephants, buffalo, hippos, crocodiles and other wildlife typical of the Zambezi ecosystem.
